Australia: Clinical Psychologist — APS & PsyBA Pathway

Internationally qualified psychologists must navigate a dual-agency process to practice in Australia. First, the Australian Psychological Society (APS) assesses whether the international degree is equivalent to a six-year sequence of study in Australia. Following this, the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA/AHPRA) oversees a period of transitional supervised practice and the national examination. This ensures that all clinical psychologists meet the high standards of ethical practice and clinical competency required by the Australian public.
