To practise as a pharmacist in Canada, candidates must obtain certification from the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada, followed by licensure from a provincial regulatory authority.

For internationally educated pharmacists, the PEBC certification process typically includes:

Step 1: Document Evaluation

Your pharmacy degree and credentials are assessed for equivalency.

Step 2: Evaluating Examination

A screening exam required for most international graduates to assess foundational knowledge.

Step 3: Qualifying Examination

This is the final certification exam and consists of two parts:

• Part I (MCQ – Computer-Based Exam)
• Part II (OSCE – Objective Structured Clinical Examination)

According to Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada, the Qualifying Examination is designed to assess whether candidates meet entry-to-practice competencies required for safe and effective pharmacy practice in Canada.
